DevBoat

Motivation
As computer science students, we found the "fear of the unknown" to be an unnecessary barrier of entry to the field for enthusiasts. We found that mentors prove to be a crucial resource to overcome this fear and helpful motivators to gain specific knowledge.
For experienced professionals within the field of computer science, apprenticeships are a great way to scale their specific knowledge.
Process
Since we had no exposure to product building, we built DevBoat solely on our instincts. It started with an idea, which turned into a prototype, and got shelved half-way through development.
My Role
As the "hippie" in the team, I was responsible for leading the design, front-end development and project management. This included communicating my vision to the team and turning that abstract vision into a tangible UX.
