Self
Raison d'etre

This is my first conscious effort at writing a public blog. I've never considered myself a writer, and don't intend to start now.
So, before I move on to displaying my thoughts and beliefs, it was important that I state the Raison d'etre - reason or justification for existence for this blog.
As Simon Sinek says "Start with why". The reason behind starting with the WHY is that people won’t truly buy into a product, service, movement, or idea until they understand the WHY behind it.
So... Why?
The one thing I desperately strive to maximize is my rate of growth as an individual.
I believe that's the primary metric to track, be it for an organization or an individual, to know whether they're on the path to success or not.
This blog is a tool to help me grow, improve and retain my knowledge.
Growth and Improvement
Publishing my thoughts and beliefs opens it up for public auditing.
People can voice their approval or disapproval of my thoughts which either strengthens, improves or ends my beliefs for the better.
Retention
It is human tendency to forget things we don't use very often.
One function of this documentation is to serve as a tool for me to retain my knowledge through repetition.
By-product
As a by-product, some people might benefit from my knowledge and experiences by avoiding mistakes I made and applying specific knowledge I gained through those experiences.
Conclusion
To sum it up, the reason for existence of this blog is very selfish - it helps me grow, improve and retain my knowledge thereby maximizing my rate of growth as an individual.
However, as a by-product, some people might find the knowledge documented here to be beneficial.
